Levels and classes of alpine skiing. Season 2008-09

Beginners
People who have never skied.
Skiers, that are not able to break and to control speed, are beginners.
Basic Bronze
Advanced Bronze
Bronzo Base
You learn how you can turn in snowplough, keeping balance, controlling speed and changing direction; on easy pistes with smooth slopes.
(blue pistes)
Bronzo Avanzato
You learn how to turn doing an elementary basic turn, on the diagonal with parallel skis and on the fall line in snowplough. You go on blue pistes where you find easy and slight slopes to avoid getting too much speed.
Basic Silver
Advance Silver
Argento Base
You learn how to do basic chrsties, through different skills as planting the pole, edge control, guiding action of the skis and control of bending and extension (blue and red pistes).
Argento Avanzato
You learn how to do christies with different arcs, through different skills like translation, directing and guiding the skis and adapting to different turn arcs (red pistes).
Basic Gold
Advance Gold
Oro Base
You learn how to do a sequence of conducted turns, mantaining a central position, increasing coordination, adapting to different turn arcs. High speed of performance (red/black pistes).
Oro Avanzato
You learn how to do racing turns, perfecting the motorial action, with high speed. You'll be able to go everywhere, on black pistes, very steep slopes, moguls, bumps and dips. Use your skis, bending them until you can close your turns very well, controlling speed (it means keeping high speed but not increasing that).
